My Role

I had full creative responsibilities as the only designer on this project. I worked alongside my clients, the store owner, and co-owner.

Deliverables

Brand guidelines and visual assets included logo, color palette, menu design, brand mascot, and store interior design. I wore all the hats.

Challenge

We faced many challenges such as unpredictable deadlines and scope. But we overcame them with effective communication and mutual understanding.

People don't always know what they want. That is why it’s important for designers to guide them.

Since the timeline and priorities is constantly changing by the clients, I had to jump around projects. For example, the clients wanted to change the logo color to match the physical store sign.

Takeaway: It Required Effective and Consistent Communication to Foster Successful Collaboration

It’s important to be empathetic and try to understand each other’s perspectives. What works for me, doesn’t alway works for the clients.
